Sufism, as an integral dimension of the Islamic spiritual tradition, embodies the pursuit of inner purification, moral excellence, and transcendental nearness to the Divine. More than a personal spiritual journey, Sufism has historically functioned as a transformative social force. Through the establishment of khanqahs (spiritual lodges), the emphasis on ethical reform, education, altruistic service, and the cultivation of communal harmony, the Sufi tradition has played a pivotal role in shaping cohesive and morally grounded societies. Influential mystics such as Hasan Basri, Rabi‘a Basri, Junayd Baghdadi, Ma‘ruf al-Karkhi, Bayazid Bustami, and later masters like Shaykh ‘Abdul Qadir Jilani and Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti greatly expanded its spiritual and social horizons. From the Islamic worldview, society is not a mere aggregation of individuals but a moral and spiritual organism, bound by mutual rights, duties, and responsibilities. It is upon the foundations of justice, compassion, cooperation, patience, and trust that an Islamic society is established. The realization of such a society depends upon the spiritual and ethical refinement of its members—an aspiration that Sufism seeks to fulfill. This study underscores the enduring relevance of Sufi thought and practice in addressing the moral crises and social fragmentation of the modern world.
Mufti Syed Muhammad RafiqLayma Mehmood

The Palestine issue has been a major religious, political, ethnic and geographical conflict of the past eight decades among Muslims and Zionists. In the absence of fair international intervention, journalism has been playing a vital role in highlighting Palestinian suffering and shaping global public opinion. Journalism has consistently drawn attention to the Palestinian struggle through frontline reporting, images, and interviews, often at the cost of journalists’ lives. Social media has amplified this struggle from ordinary users to great influencers, employing hashtags, campaigns, and direct footage to expose ground realities, mobilize protests, and strengthen boycott movements. While mainstream Western media often reflects pro-Israel narratives, outlets like Al Jazeera and TRT World, along with human rights organizations, have provided counter-narratives in support of Palestinians. Overall, journalism and digital media have transformed the Palestinian cause into a global discourse, empowering marginalized voices, pressuring international communities, and keeping the struggle for justice alive despite severe challenges. Journalists on mainstream media and common people on social media face their own kind of challenges about supporting the Palestine cause. Despite all the difficulties the voice of humanity keeps raised up and prominent as the journalism keeps intensifying the issue on world level.
Abeera BibiAqdas FatimaDr. Maria Khalil

The Islamic way of life offers a comprehensive, inclusive, and perfect framework for all aspects of human existence—ranging from belief and worship to morality, economics, society, and politics. Rooted in the Qur'an and the Sunnah, this system aims to create a balanced and just society where spirituality, ethical conduct, and the worship of God prevail. As noted by scholars, Islam is not merely a religion of rituals but a complete civilization encompassing all human concerns. Its primary features include a monotheistic worldview that shapes personal and collective behavior, an uncompromising commitment to justice and equality, a universal mission beyond race or region, alignment with innate human nature (fitrah), and a civilization founded on moral excellence. Through these principles, the Islamic system offers not just individual reform but the establishment of a righteous and equitable order for all of humanity.
Dr. Syed Bacha Agha

http://aldalili.com/index.php/dalili/article/view/139

The present research explores the facilitators and constraints to women’s political engagement and leadership in Balochistan, Pakistan, employing both survey and interview data. A series of qualitative research methods; including, questionnaires, focus group discussions, interviews and documentary review were used to capture socio-cultural related, economical and organizational barriers to women. This study shows that familistic-Patriarchal culture and gendered social practices and structures hinder women’s participation in governance a lot. Economic vulnerability and lack of resource rights, also increases non-recognition more so for women and especially those in the rural areas to engage in political activities. The paper thus revealed education as the power tool towards changing women, enhancing their status, attitudes to Work, and readiness towards leadership. However, lack of equal opportunities in accessing education is still a big setback. Measures like Community workshops, grass root organizations, scholarships to girls who want to study but are prohibited by their parents in such areas become workable strategies. Further, the direction of micro financing along with social entities at community level is emphasized for enhancing the fairness in socio-economic and political spheres especially in rural areas. This apparently shows that institutional challenges still exist even with enhancement strategies like gender quotas and reserved seats. Lack of stringent measures and low nomination of women for higher leadership political posts are evident to argue for structural change. Therefore, the study suggests that policy enforcement should be strengthened, leadership must be trained, and the organization’s culture must be changed so that women can have an active role in governance. The study shows that there is a close relationship between economic status, education, and politics. Efforts to increase women’s agencies have the potential to produce meaningful, long-term improvements in governance, such as improved policy compared to health, education and welfare. Thus, this research ushers hope for policymakers, nonprofits, and community actors interested in the improvement of women’s political participation across various nations and regions by attending to socio-cultural and institutional constraints. The study therefore reaffirms the need for both policy reforms and education and community mobilization to enhance gender balance at the leadership level.
Rehana BarkatProf. Dr. Muhammad Usman Tobawal

2025-01-282025-01-280116ENGLISH: The Educational and Intellectual Situation of Muslims in ASEAN
http://aldalili.com/index.php/dalili/article/view/143

The educational and intellectual landscape of Muslims in the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) region reflects a complex interplay of diversity, resilience, and transformation. With over 250 million Muslims across countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, and the Philippines, the region showcases a rich mosaic of religious and secular educational systems that contribute significantly to Southeast Asia’s cultural and academic fabric. Significant progress has been made in nations like Malaysia and Indonesia in harmonizing Islamic values with contemporary education. Nevertheless, challenges persist in areas such as equitable access, academic quality, and intellectual autonomy. In minority contexts—particularly Thailand and the Philippines Muslims often encounter structural marginalization, which constrains both educational advancement and the freedom of intellectual expression. Historical legacies, political dynamics, and socio-economic disparities further shape the educational trajectories of Muslim communities. Emerging developments include the establishment of Islamic universities, regional and international academic collaborations, the growing use of digital learning technologies, and a renewed interest in classical Islamic sciences alongside modern disciplines. The expanding role of Muslim women in education and the impact of transnational Islamic movements on local reform initiatives also form critical aspects of this evolving landscape. Findings from this research highlight both notable achievements and persisting deficiencies in Muslim education across ASEAN. These insights aim to inform regional policy debates and offer strategic recommendations for fostering inclusive, high-quality, and context-sensitive educational frameworks that empower Muslim communities throughout Southeast Asia.
Layma MehmoodDr. Sana Jadoon
