In the capital cities, Where the upper class of Muslim society lived, the ulema were the custodians of religion, and in the remote places among the masses, the sufis worked most effectively, generation after generation only to preserve the inner spirit of lslam among the Muslims but also to win thousands of converts from the downtrodden Hindu masses to whom even elementary human rights had been denied by their co-religionists. The spread of Islam in the subcontinent is the story of the tireless efforts of the numerous saints and sufis who dedicated their lives to the cause of the service of humanity. In winning converts these holy men were helped by two important factors. The evils of the caste system among the Hindus were at their worst on the eve of the Muslim conquest and because of the simple and unassertive life pattern of sufis, their devotion to the love and worship of the Almighty God and their love for suffering humanity, were tremendously devoted to fulfil this humanitarian and liberating mission of Islam.
Shazia Jaffar Copyright (c) 2022 CC Attribution 4.0 Tue, 09 Aug 2022 00:00:00 -0400 ENGLISH: Literary Dynamics of English Language in Azad Jammu and Kashmir
This particular research paper is an attempt to shed light on “Literary Dynamics of English Language in Azad Jammu and Kashmir” Azad Kashmir is one of the richest areas of the world in terms of Linguistic diversity. With the establishment of trade relations between the Arabs and the people of India, the teaching and promotion of Arabic language and literature started up. The Indigenous people of the subcontinent worked hard to acquire religious learnings and fine arts. With the passage of time, the centers for the education and training of Arabic language and literature were established all over the subcontinent. During the period of Mughals there was a large number of oriental scholars and linguistics in the subcontinent. Afterwards, the British empire used all its resources to divert people from Arabic language and literature towards English language and culture despite that the trend to receive Islamic teachings and to learn Arabic language and literature kept increasing. After the partition of Subcontinent, Pakistan came into being. In Pakistan the scholars and linguists of Arabic wrote many books for the enhancement of Arabic language and literature and also for the promotion of religious teachings. There established prominent institutions, universities and Madaris for the promotion of oriental studies. The scholars of Lahore contributed much for this great task. These Scholars composed numerous books and research articles for the revival and development of Arabic language and Literature. The Scholars wrote various books of Arabic prose, Tafseer, Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence, logic, Philosophy, Rhetoric and Discourse. Unfortunately, if any ruling is passed over any hyped issue, it becomes subject to severe critique and results into harsh disagreements. So, the institution of Fatwa is passing through a turmoil which is unbearable for the true adherents of Islamic faith and the preachers of religion. As a matter of fact, the field of religious legislation is quite vast and inclusive; the abundance of books written in this field since Abbasside age bear testimony to that. With everyday progress in the affairs of life, all the academic fields have upgraded themselves in terms of tools, methods and applications. Such must be the case of the institution of Fatwa as the matters and issues seeking legislation have undergone major changes. So, in this context, it is obligatory for Mufti to understand the spirit of jurisprudence of the time Fiqh-al-Waqi’. The latter is a term not merely related to understanding the current situation rather it is quite vast and comprehensive. This article is an attempt to shed light on true meaning of Fiqh – al-waqi’. The Jurisconsult or Mufti is obliged to have a lot of essential capabilities and potential to understand, analyze and apply the theoretical knowledge otherwise he would issue religious rulings bringing disastrous results for the society. This paper begins with definition of religious rulings then proceeds with the pre-requisites a Mufti must have before passing a religious ruling then mentions the types of Fatwas and the diversity of Jurisconsults. After the theoretical part, the paper discusses the instances of development of jurisprudence with the passage of time and its relevance to the changing circumstances since the age of the Holy Prophet P.B.U.H.
Dr. Ikram Ul Haq Al-Azhari, Dr. Zia Ullah bin Muhammad Jan, Dr. Maria Maan Copyright (c) 2022 CC Attribution 4.0 Wed, 10 Aug 2022 00:00:00 -0400 BALOCHI: براہوئی بتلانی زانش
Proverbs are collective wisdom of wise people.
