ETHICS AND ECONOMICS (IN THE LIGHT OF EDUCATION OF SHAH WALIULLAH)

Abstract

Shah Waliullah is well known for his immense contributions towards the development of Islamic thought. He made vast intellectual contributions according to the needs of his time. He penned down issues on numerous topics such as Economic, ethical Education and Political thoughts. His works continue to inspire and benefit many people even today. Shah Waliullah without doubt struggled for the improvement of Muslims especially in Ethics and Economics, frequently advising the Muslims to return to the pristine to teaching of the core text i.e. Quran & Sunnah. He urged the Muslim to refrain from false practices. Shah Waliullah left a lasting legacy behind and indeed is and always will be source of inspiration for generation to come. His contribution in the field of Economics, Ethics and renaissance of the Muslims positively impacted those in his time continues to do so. It will be no overstatement to say that Shah Wailullah’s reformist ideas in Ethics and Economics profoundly impacted those of his time such as extent that annals of history of sub-continent cannot be discussed without referring to his influence. Even the various school of thoughts and reformist of our time.
