Abstract

Religious travelogues have a unique place in Urdu literature. This genre fully meets all the requirements of the living literary genres. Considering this context, while the world of literature got a new direction, Urdu fiction could not remain indifferent.There is a deep connection between literature and life.A successful writer can grasp the realities of life through his power of observation, While in the travelogue the record is compiled in view of this feature.The Bahawalpur region has a rich tradition of religious travel writing.Khalifa Ahmad Akhtar Mirza's travelogue was published under the title "Safarnameh Faridi" in the year 1896, while Muhammad Hafeez-ur-Rehman wrote the travelogue "Hijaz" in the year 1934.In the year 1937, Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan Khamis wrote a travelogue entitled "Hajj Sadiq". In the year 1939, the travelogue "Hadiyat-ul-Sadiq" written by Muhammad Jafar came to light. After the establishment of Pakistan, Gohar Mulsiani, Bushra Rehman, Haider Qureshi, Khurshid Nazer and other travel writers played a vital role in carrying forward the same tradition of travel writing.
