Abstract

This research explores the significance of the word "water" in the daily lives of nomadic communities and its portrayal in Brahui folk poetry. The study focuses on the cultural and ecological importance of water to these communities and how it has shaped their lifestyles and belief systems. Using qualitative analysis and ethnographic research methods, the study examines the various ways in which the word "water" is an essential element of life, and its availability greatly impacts the lifestyle of nomadic communities. The Brahui people, who live in an arid region, have developed a strong connection with water and have integrated it into their cultural practices. Water is not only essential for their survival but is also an important part of their cultural identity. It is reflected in their language, poetry, music, and other cultural expressions. The research findings reveal the deep cultural and symbolic significance of water in nomadic life and the ways in which it is portrayed in Brahui folk poetry as a source of life, sustenance, and renewal. This study sheds light on the complex relationship between culture and nature and provides insights into the importance of preserving traditional ecological knowledge and cultural heritage.
