Abstract

The mothers of Muslim Ummah (Ummahat ul Momini) are the treasure house of the Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.). These narrations are mostly narrated by Hazat Aisha (R. A.) and Hazrat Umm e Salam (R.A.). The present study will focus to search the role of Hazrat Umm e Salma as a commentator of Quran. These narrations cover the topics of Prophet Muahmmad’s qirat (recitation) of Quranic verses (mentioned in the research paper), the narrations addressing female issues including the duration of iddat of pregnant woman, duration of Radhaat(lactation), pardah and the questions clarifying the position of women in regard of religious obligatory rituals like jihad, narration regarding the repentance of Sahabi Rasool and the narration regarding the vow of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.).
